I never th0ught I’d become a photographer. Or a homeschooling mom of two.
Yet here we are.
—
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. What can I say? Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye.
While Ohio will always hold a special place in my heart, I’ve called the Pittsburgh area home for over 20 years. I met my husband here all those years ago, and together we’ve built a beautiful life with two kids who are growing up far too quickly.
We’ve homeschooled since the beginning — our oldest is now in high school. It’s incredibly bittersweet realizing that our homeschool journey is closer to the end than the beginning. Back when we started, I wasn’t sure I’d make it this far. Now, I can’t imagine doing it any other way.
Of course, raising kids comes with its own set of challenges. My husband and oldest both have celiac disease, which means living gluten-free isn’t a trend for us — it’s a daily necessity. And my youngest? Type 1 diabetes. These diagnoses have shaped so much of our lives, and while they come with plenty of hard moments, they’ve also brought perspective, resilience, and more humility than I expected.
I got my first camera around the time my oldest was born — nearly 16 years ago. Back then, I did what’s jokingly referred to as “spray and pray” photography: take a hundred shots and hope one turns out. But pretty quickly, curiosity got the better of me. I wanted to understand what all the buttons, dials, and settings actually did.
And let’s just say… I went down the rabbit hole. Over the years, I upgraded my gear, honed my skills, and slowly built a business photographing portraits and events for people who value honest, story-driven imagery. Each session teaches me something new and deepens the way I approach my work behind the camera.
Thanks for stopping by — I’m glad you’re here.
